This green district project in the Netherlands includes innovative and sustainable technologies for water and energy saving.

This green district project in the Netherlands includes innovative and sustainable technologies for water and energy saving. Each of the 225 homes is equipped with one or two Evac vacuum toilets for low water consumption and high black water concentration. The houses also have Qua-Vac food waste disposers and all the services are connected to a single vacuum collecting unit.

Vacuum piping transports the mixture to a local biogas plant where it co-generates energy. About 12% of the total gas demand in the district is produced this way.
