Vacuum interface valves

Vacuum interface valves (VIVs) are used to connect gravity-based appliances to a vacuum sewage system. Whilst the Evac vacuum toilet is an integral part of the system, the system will also accept waste from all other gravity fixtures, including hand basins, baths, urinals, sumps, and showers. It does this using vacuum interface valves. The VIVs allow standard bathroom fittings to be connected to the vacuum drainage system in new-build projects, while eliminating the need to replace existing fittings in refurbishment projects.

The tank of the 2 litre unit is made of polypropylene, and the tank of the 5 litre unit  is made of corrosion resistant AISI 316. Both of the vacuum interface valves make use of the proven Evac pneumatic flush mechanism with flush memory and vacuum sensor technology. No electricity is needed.

Operating principle of Evac vacuum inteface unit

The Evac vacuum interface valve unit works in a similar way to the Evac vacuum toilet. The activator is triggered when a static head of 80 mm has accumulated in the graywater tank. This then transfers the operating vacuum to the plunger diaphragm, opening the discharge valve for three seconds. When the level of liquid in the tank reaches approx. 80 mm, the cycle is repeated. Flushing can only occur when there is sufficient operating vacuum (over -25kPa). The whole operation is automatic and no electrical connections are required.

Evac package vacuum interfaces ranges from 2 to 15L  buffer tank equipped with all components for connection to a vacuum piping network. This product is especially suitable when all components of the interface can be accessible at one place and when multiples gray water fixtures need to be connected to the same buffer.

A supermarket vacuum collection system allows waste piping for chiller and freezer cabinet condensate to be mounted overhead near the roof joists. A lift as high as 6 m/20 ft. can be achieved using an Evac vacuum waste collection system. Our patented BVP valve permits the use of 25 mm/1 in. riser and therefore reduced vacuum pump times. The standard system package includes an activator, valve, mini-check valve, and tubing.

Differential or Mushroom valves are simple interfaces for straight down collection of condensate or gray water. The valve provides a constant differential pressure and controls air or water flow.

Evac vacuum drain kits

Evac offers a wide range of floor drains, shower drains, and single appliance connections of varying capacities for different applications and regions. Floor drains use the same principle as interface units, while shower drains use a float in the tank to act as a valve. Side connections and screen baskets are also available.
