Anh Nguyen’s Career Journey from Trainee to Project Procurement Leader at Evac
From a student in International Trade to leading procurement projects in less than a year, Anh Nguyen’s journey at Evac is a story of fast growth, supportive culture, and meaningful work.

From Summer Trainee to Project Procurement Leader
Anh Nguyen came to Finland from Saigon, Vietnam, to study International Trade at the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences in Kouvola. In March 2023, she joined Evac as a summer trainee in the spare part purchasing team. Over time, her role expanded, and she stepped into the role of Project Procurement Leader—taking on full responsibility for project purchasing and contributing to the improvement of procurement processes.
Learning, Solving, and Supporting the Team
“My tasks vary from checking orders to negotiating with suppliers, analyzing project and supplier data, and improving procurement processes,” Anh explains. “There’s always something new to learn or to solve. At the same time, I get to help my team improve how we work.”
The rapid learning curve has been matched by strong support from her colleagues. “The team and my managers have supported me from day one,” she says. “They’ve encouraged me to take ownership and grow. It has helped me believe in myself and feel that I can do this.”
Evac has given me the space and support to grow faster than I imagined. I’ve been trusted with real responsibility and encouraged every step of the way—it’s made me feel confident and truly part of something meaningful.
Finding Purpose in Sustainable Work
Beyond her professional growth, what motivates Anh most is the purpose behind the work. “We work with sustainable technologies. When I solve problems, make decisions, or help improve something—even in small ways—it contributes to a bigger purpose. That makes the work meaningful.”
